Exercise is very important to me not just for the physical benefits, but mainly for my mental heath. If I don’t get in a bike ride, run, or some kind of strength training, it is almost guaranteed that I will have an anxiety attack. The struggle has been real in trying to find balance.

Meggie is a very special person who has helped me on my journey. She has helped me train through injuries, been my cheerleader, and my teacher. She’s worked with my tight schedule, and has met me at the gym as early as 5:45 in the morning! Always with a smile on her face. When I can’t make it to the gym, she is sure to send me a workout that I can do from home. What sets Meggie a part from a lot of trainers I know is her passion. She doesn’t just love fitness, she LOVES fitness. She makes you excited to be alive and making healthy choices. She even makes deadlifts fun (I swear)!

So to share a little of her passion, wisdom, and her top 5 moves, I caught up with Meggie:

1. What made you decide to make fitness your profession?

I fell in love with how fitness made me feel physically and mentally when I was about 18. I suffered from depression for a long time growing up, and had no self confidence. Fitness changed my perspective on how I felt about myself in every way. I became a trainer to help pass on the happiness I have found throughout my journey. I wanted to help people see how fun it can be to get into shape and transform in every way possible. Watching people build confidence through working out is absolutely amazing and I love being a part of that.

2. What is your favorite outdoor activity to do in Sun Valley?

Hiking in the summer, hands down, is my absolute favorite! There is nothing more rewarding than standing on top of a mountain your legs just carried you up.

I downhill ski as much as I can in the winter. At least 3 days a week, if not more if I have time to. I'm in love with the outdoors!

3. When you’re in a crunch, and you only have 30min to get a workout in, what are your go to moves?

Top 5 moves for a quick at home workout -

1. Squat jumps
2. Side plank oblique drop
3. Switch jump lunge
4. Plank
5. Pushup

4. Why are these your moves?

Squats jumps - this move works so many muscles + cardio! You get glutes, legs, core, and you get your heart rate up. You're building muscle and burning fat all in one move.

Side plank oblique drop - core core core! Working muscles deep in the abdominals. Any type of plank will hit deeper than your basic situp.

Switch jump lunge - legs and cardio! A quick way to fire up your legs and your heart rate.

Plank - there are endless options for planks to make them more challenging/switch it up to trick your core.

Push-ups- similar to plank, there are different ways to work different muscles through push-ups. One of the best exercises for the chest, which helps keep the ladies perky, if you know what I'm saying ;)

5. What does flawsome mean to you?

I think every woman has their good days and their bad days. Some days you feel beautiful and some days.. not so much. When you can train your mind to see the positive and stop comparing yourself to what you think you should look like.. That's when things change. When you can look at yourself in the mirror and see your scars, your stretch marks, your cellulite, and just fucking own it with confidence, that is flawsome. It's your body, it's BEAUTIFUL, and it's original. Learn to love it!!!

Well ladies, there you have it. Be FLAWSOME!
