Lola Berry on Whole Food, Strength and The Magic Ingredient

  1. Tell us a bit about yourself and how you got to where you are?
    Well i'm a food nerd, nutritionist, yoga teacher, nature addict and author of 4 books, the most current one is The Happy Cookbook. 
  2. What do you think makes you strong (mentally, physically etc.)?
    Yoga, sleep, doing what I love most and putting myself first, music, dreaming, i'm a big dreamer but that's how i've seen these things really come into reality.
  3. What makes you FLAWSOME?
    hmm.. well i'm far from perfect but I believe that's what makes you strong and with these flaws you can use them to become a better version of you. My flaws are I worry about nothing, I over think, some days I have really low self confidence and I care what other people think. But as I grow up, I catch myself a little faster and quickly learn that's it's just my insecurities. 
  4. Who inspires you to be strong?
    My dad, I love watching Steve Irwin docos, his raw passion and enthusiasm is so inspiring. 
  5. How do you share your strength with others?
    Through the way I communicate through books and media. and I try to do it through leading by example.
  6. How do you think living an active life makes you stronger?
    Because it nourishes your mind body and soul.
  7. What role do you think what we eat plays in feeling – strong, confident and happy?
    A huge one, soon as I don't look after my diet my mind slips and I start to second guess myself, so food is the magic ingredient. 
  8. What are your 3 tips for getting back on track and feeling strong again after over indulging?
    Water, sleep and whole food. it's that simple and be ok with feeling crappy for a few days, that's just your body detoxing. 
  9. Can you share a recipe that makes you feel strong and happy?
    Yes, my Blub-narnie smoothie: here's the recipe.
    • Blub-narnie (blueberry and banana)
    • Intro: We all know that this flavour combo just works a treat and it does, you can’t go wrong with a good blub-narnie smoothie!
    • Ingredients:
    • 1 frozen banana
    • 1 cup of frozen blueberries
    • 2 tablespoons of almond butter
    • 1 tablespoon of honey (can use maple or coconut nectar or dates)
    • 2 and ½ cups of almond milk, unsweetened
  10. Do you have any exciting projects you’re working on that you can share? 
    I've just started to work on the next book, doing more book tours and lots of travel! So it's a fun time. I'm just really lucky to be doing what i love.
