7 Day Reboot Meal Plan
Posted on 01 October 2014
As part of the reboot we are trying to eat whole, organic, unprocessed foods. These foods are 'cleaner' and without chemicals and fillers can be digested, processed and absorbed by our body a lot easier. Now while many of you may already eat fairly clean, organically and restrict elements such as dairy, gluten or sugar in your diet our reboot aims to add an extra cleansing element by increasing raw food intake, reducing meat intake and adding some superfoods in there too.
As part of the reboot will be trying to eat at least one raw meal a day - raw food is truly one of the only beauty products you need! And the extra boost of enzymes, nutrients and minerals is amazing for wellbeing. We have included a raw meal or two a day in our below meal plan that our team will be following throughout the reboot.
Find out more of the benefits of eating raw on our favourite raw recipes blog.
Reduced Meat Intake
You may notice that many of the reboot meals are lacking an animal protein source. We wanted to have loads of veggie options not only for our Vegan and Vegetarian friends but also to help reduce inflammation (meat, dairy, gluten, sugar etc. can all lead to inflammation), let our digestive system work on absorbing nutrients rather than breaking down meat.
When we have included meat we have chosen lean, white protein sources as when red meat is broken down in the gut it releases a toxic by product which interferes with the nutrient absorption process.
The Importance of Protein
We do believe that is important to get adequate protein in your diet, especially when you are highly active. You will notice that on your HIIT and Strength days a lot of protein is included.
Protein is also very important for keeping you full, as it takes longer to break down than fats or carbs. For this reason we are aiming to start everyday with a healthy serve of protein to keep our bodies full in the morning and give our digestion an early start (drinking a glass of warm water with chlorophyll in the morning will also work wonders for reducing cravings, bloating and kick starting the metabolism).
Eat Cacao Everyday
Here at Vie Active we treat cacao like medicine! It has one of the highest antioxidant ratings on the planet which helps fight free radicals in the body. Cacao is also packed with magnesium which helps relax the muscles and the nervous system, perfect when trying to reboot. Cacao is also a rich source of sulfur. Sulfur is associated with strong nails, shiny hair and a healthy liver and pancreas. With all these amazing benefits and more - we have included cacao in many of our reboot recipes to make sure you're getting your daily dose.
The Meal Guide
With our Reboot suggestions in mind we have put together a meal plan that our team will be following throughout the reboot (recipes included). Make sure that before you undertake any new eating regime you consult a healthcare professional as our bodies are all different and what works for some, may not work for others. Xx
